Is it possible for the ESWL therapist to operate from behind a protective shield like lead glass etc during ESWL? or would you recommend wearing a Lead Apron?

In conventional ESWL systems manufactured by most of the companies worldwide the inbuilt C-Arm or U-Arm is not motorized, hence it is not possible to work from behind a fixed shield like lead glass during lithotripsy treatment, because the treatment involves manually adjusting the C-Arm during focalizing and lithotripsy session. So the user is left with no other option except using a Lead Apron while performing Lithotripsy.

However in Torro-Compact ESWL machine manufactured by TMC it is possible to have motorized c-arm roll motion, which is an optional feature. Using this feature, it is very much possible for the ESWL therapist or physician to operate the machine from a separate shielded cabin or from behind a shielded glass screen.
